 Echan Deravy is a Scottish writer, film maker and life long orientalist who has spent many years in Japan both as a student and teacher. He has absolutely unique insights into Japanese culture and its probable Sirian roots through the Shinto shamans. His position as a free lance researcher into arcane mysteries both East and West, as well as his interviews and dialogues with new paradigm thinkers has given him a paradoxical view of the 'extraterrestrial question'. For that reason he has recently been approached by individuals at the highest echelons of Japanese society to act as a bridge builder between East and West. His documentary film Earth Pilgrims has recently been released in Japan and in the US. It offers insights into how we can best deal with the obvious challenges we now face as a species. His central theme, which is covered in all his work, is the idea of sudden, accelerated evolution. This, he calls catastrophic evolution.
